JAPANBROADCASTING.NET presents "Magnitude 311"

 Time flies.

We have just marked the 1 year anniversary of the tragic Japan-Tsunami-Earthquake, which killed over 19,000 people on March 11th, 2011.

With your great love and donations from all across the world, my nation is on the verge of recovery. Of course, we are monitoring the current situation of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant closely, day by day. Our government has already announced that the reactors 1 to 4 are all in the state of a "Cool Shutdown" , but there's still a long way to go till the whole nuclear plant is dismantled safely.

Today, I am proud to present you a 20minute short film, about that horrific disaster. More than 340,000 evacuees have still been forced to live outside their homes.  We humans seem to have a tendency to forget natural disasters after a couple of weeks,  but as one Japanese citizen I strongly believe I must not let that happen.

Of course, I do not fully understand the pain the people in tsunami hit areas have suffered, by no means is that possible. However, I can do and will do what I can on my behalf to pass on the truth to the future.

You can watch the film "Magnitude 311" here   →    JAPANBROADCASTING.NET

   Thank you very much.

    Sincerely, Yujiro

Visit Tokyo, visit SENTO

We the Japanese love to be "clean".

I know some girls that stays inside the bathtub for 2 hours every night. Probably we are the CLEANEST race on earth, especially compared to the great French people whom I've heard takes shower only !once a week". And its proven by the fact that the French colognes like the famous "Poison" or "No.5" is overwhelmingly strong like a bloody vodka(or poison) , in order to "erase the smelly French body".

Furthermore, Parisians invented this thing called "Bidet".   Disclosing a little humiliation of mine,   long long time ago when I stayed at a hotel somewhere I found this BIDET thingy inside the bathroom but didn't know what it was. I had no hesitation to wash my beautiful face inside it, nice and fresh.

OMG... only if I knew then that this irritating French invention was meant to wash the xxxxxx (≧Д≦)

If the French were clean like us, they didn't have to even build this thingy in the first place.  Shame on you Barack Obama!.... no, I mean Nicola Sarcozy and the French (-_-#)( ̄^ ̄)

Btw, if you happen to have the same passport as Carla Bruni, please do not be offended....because I am your damn TOMODACCI, or a "friend".I love the croissant too. Merci.

When Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear plant's reactors 1,2, 3 and 4 started melting down right after 3/11 Tsunami earthquake last year, it was the you guys the great French that offered.... no, actually it was indeed the great U.S military that offered us big support in Tsunami hit areas.

On the otherhand, it wasn't till the end of March that Mr. Sarkozy made a day trip to Japan in order to have Japan's government sign some contracts to sell French "Areva.com Nuclear Technology" that may play a crucial role to recover from then an imminent Fukushima crisis.

Boy, was, Nicola a "businessman". I heard that he stayed in Tokyo for only 3 min.  and flew to his favorite country next door, ....which will be taken over by the handsome Mr. Xi Jinping next month.

Anyways, ladies and gents.

Wide acres of land in Fukushima have been badly contaminated by radioactive substances such as Cesium, and it will take many more years till areas surrounding the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant become "livable".

However guys, other places like Tokyo and Kyoto is super safe and monster clean.  So don't worry, eat sushi. Hop on to British Airways tomorrow from London, and it will take you directly to Haneda International Airport which is only 20min. from Tokyo tower! (By train or taxi)

And if you do visit Tokyo, make sure to visit the SENTO, or a public bath and clean up your "contaminated" body.  Its only 450 yen too! (410 yen in Osaka)
Enjoy the attached image of SENTO. I took this pic at a SENTO  which was founded in 1863 in bloody Ginza! (*⌒▽⌒*)

Amazing bath, amazing sleep.

Thank u.

Good Mangas, good life

One Piece, vol.65.

Japanese culture is amazing.

Manga, means comic. Its already an universal word, like Sony "walkman".

If you are interested in the CORE of Mangas, please google "Tezuka Osamu", "Tensai Bakabon ", "Okamoto Ippei" and ”Doraemon".

"Pocket monster" and "Dragon ball" was an invention based on our deep rooted historical culture of visual-comic, Manga.

Some Westerners may regard Japanese adults who read Mangas as CHILDISH, but before you criticize please read "Hinotori- Bird of the fire" , a classic written by Tezuka Osamu.  It may impress you more than Ernest Hemingway, or even Somerset Maughm.

"Japan Guide" is attached to MONOCLE this month!

Dear readers.

Please hurry to the bookstore right now. Go buy the world's coolest fashion-news magazine "MONOCLE".

This month's exclusive topic is "Japan".

I have to thank the great editor in chief, Mr.Tyler Brule, who himself seems to be a BIG fan of my country. He visited Japan 10 times last year, and boy does he know more about the latest updates of Osaka, Fukuoka and Sapporo more than I do!  He may even no more about Tokyo than myself.

"There are TOTO toilets everywhere in Japan" he notes on this month's edition.

"Go and get an end-of-day shave infront of Tokyo station" is another. Tyler even recommends "Go to the ancient capital Kamakura, just an hour train ride from Tokyo and sip some coffee at various cafe's" and so on. By coincidence, my hometown IS Kamakura, and there is no doubt that the "Mr.Editor in Chief" did ponder around across my neighborhood which used to be the capital of Tokyo back in the end of the 12th century(1192) 〜1133.

Another coincidence is that I have actually met Mr.Brule in person.

I was fortunate to be interviewed in his internet-radio program "Monocle Weekly" last year, right after I failed to become the governor of Tokyo. For those of you who may not know, I was the youngest candidate to challenge the seat of Tokyo governor last year. Here is an article from the TIME magazine.

And after I was defeated by the current governor Shintaro Ishihara, Tyler was kind enough to invite me over to his great monster show.

I appear after 45min. so please take a listen whenever you have time.

Btw, whatever the criteria, and no matter what Japan today is super safe, ladies and gents.

And to be honest I was strongly moved when today I saw Mr.Tyler Brule had jotted down "I recommend everyone to go visit Japan. It IS the place to visit, now. You will definitely get some kinda inspiration. Its monster safe" on MONOCLE magazine in which he started 6 years ago back in 2007.

Its not cheap.

With MONOCLE's worth 2200 yen (approx. $28USD), you can eat 8 bowls of GYOODON ( Beef rice bowl with miso soup/ Matsuya), but I can assure you dudes, you should definitely purchase this month's MONOCLE because it might worth 8 booklets of the famous LONELY PLANET.  You will know what I mean if you read it.

Seeing is believing.

So! Please visit Japan today. If you have any questions about my beloved nation, please be free to ask. I shall respond beck'n call.

Good sushi, good life.

Ariagato Gozaimass m(_ _)m

Amazing Meiji Jingoo

Hi! Today I want to introduce you the amazing Meiji Jingoo shrine located in Harajucoo, the core of Tokyo.

Well, some of u may already know, but Shinto is Japan's ancient religion. In Shintoism we have no religious bible nor conversion, and we strongly value harmony with nature.

The Japanese generally celebrate the birth of a baby in Shinto rituals, but hold funerals in a Buddhist way.

This must be simply incomprehensible for Christians and Muslims who believe only in one divine god. You see dudes, rather than a religion Shintoism may be referred rather as " Japanese way of life". As I've mentioned we have no textbook in Shintoism like Coran and the New Testament.  Instead we honor "Kami" or divine spirit and since the ancient times the Japanese have expressed strong gratitude towards nature and human beings notwithstanding the "Kami".

Founded in 1920, Meiji Jingoo is surrounded by 170,000 trees of 245 species!  And the amazing thing is that it is located in the center of Tokyo right "next to" the "Gothic lolita Cosplay girls".

So,if you want to purify your dirty soul, hop off Harajucoo station, today.

Good sunshine, good life.

Thank u.
